This screening takes place in the Bell Museum Auditorium on the University of Minnesota campus.
An all-time classic of Chinese revolutionary cinema by legendary director Xie, this film follows the exploits of a fighting women’s detachment within the Communist revolution. Loosely based on a true story, the action focuses in particular on Wu Qionghua, a slave girl who escapes and seeks revenge against her oppressors. 1961, video, 120 minutes.
