Following the release of a new monograph of unpublished works by the late performance-based artist, Walker director Olga Viso will trace the evolution of Ana Mendieta’s career and examine her profound legacy on cross-disciplinary artistic practices. Viso, who curated the career survey Ana Mendieta: Earth Body, Sculpture and Performance, 1972–1985 organized by the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., will also show a selection of Mendieta’s short films. For more information, contact www.mcad.edu/wai. Presented by the MCAD Women’s Art Institute and Department of Media Arts.
