Introduced by producer Sarah Pillsbury
A dark comedy, perverse romance, and psychological thriller, Quid Pro Quo made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival and was lauded by Variety as “strikingly original and provocative.” Nick Stahl plays a wheelchair-bound public radio personality who meets a mysterious woman (Vera Farminga) while covering a story on the curious subculture of “wannabes”—able-bodied people who seek to transform themselves by amputation. Producer Sarah Pillsbury (Desperately Seeking Susan, River’s Edge, Eight Men Out, And the Band Played On) will introduce the film and participate in a post-screening conversation. 2007, 35mm, 87 minutes.
Special support provided by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Premieres: First Look is made possible by generous support from Elizabeth Redleaf.
