2003 Regis Dialogue guest Gus Van Sant’s latest film about a teenage skateboarder in Oregon takes viewers on a moral odyssey through the pain and disconnect of adolescence. When an unsolved murder at Portland’s infamous Paranoid Park brings the police to a local high school, Alex decides to say nothing as the investigation intensifies. “Paranoid Park is about bodies at rest and in motion, and about longing, beauty, youth, and death, and as much about the artist as his subject. It is a modestly scaled triumph without a false or wasted moment” (Manohla Dargis, New York Times). 2007, 35mm, 78 minutes.
