Calling his debut feature film “neither homage nor a parody,” Polish artist Piotr Uklanski re-creates all the character and storyline trappings of the classic American western while spinning an allegory of his country’s history during the demise of Communism. Breaking up the all-Polish cast is a cameo by Val Kilmer. The artist’s related artworks were part of the Walker’s recent exhibition Paper Trail: A Decade of Acquisitions. 2006, 35mm, 93 minutes.
